UTI presents in BSDA the only Romanian NATO-certified cyber security solutions

UTI cyber security solutions applicable to the military sector, the result of a tireless research and development activity, are based on public key infrastructures, the safest information security method.

In the current geo-political context, the implementation of tested and certified information security solutions at the level of defense structures is compulsory in order to respond to cyberattacks that can harm national security.

During May 14-16 2014, UTI participates to the international Black Sea Defense and Aerospace exhibition, taking place at Romaero Baneasa. UTI, one of the most important developers and integrators of military IT systems, is scheduled to present an array of solutions: cyber security, command and control, software applications, Tempest equipment, video analysis and integrated security systems for military objectives. An attractive element is the portfolio of lethal and non-lethal weapons sold by the UTI Shooting Range, the only indoors shooting range in Bucharest, addressed to firearm aficionados, professional or hobbyists.

Cyber security, especially in the military field, is a joint responsibility of specialized institutions and private companies who provide such solutions, the final aim being to make cyberspace safer. The solutions developed by certSIGN, UTI member and the most important player on the national market of cyber security solutions, are internationally recognized by the introduction of our own certSAFE and shellSAFE in the NATO NIAPC (NATO Information Assurance Product Catalogue). They can be used for processing classified NATO information up to the NATO RESTRICTED level.

UTI is the third producer of PKI solutions (Public Key Infrastructures) in the world and the only one in Romania whose products were introduced in this catalogue.

certSIGN has recently completed the development process for a cybersecurity product for mobile terminals, Trust4Mobile, the first Romanian voice and text message encryption application. This app provides maximum security in mobile communication, using digital certificates and PKI technologies.

“The projects developed in Romania and abroad, the recognition that products and solutions developed and implemented by us enjoy at NATO level through the introduction in the catalogue of agreed suppliers or within Joint Warrior Interoperability exercises organized by the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency confirms their quality, as well as the fact that we can respond to the highest technological and security exigencies in the military field,” states Lucia Urdăreanu, Head of Corporate Communication.

The constant preoccupation for the development of advanced technological solutions was a determining factor in the purchase of the Production Systems Research and Development Institute in 2007, that UTI transformed into an excellence center for the research, development and production of systems for the defense industry. The Institute develops and integrates the systems implemented in important projects: the Gap Filler radar, developed in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, the C4i systems, Tempest equipment, special container, intervention robots.
