UTI equips an Information Security lab of the Automatic Control and Computer Science Faculty

In April-May 2005, UTI Systems installed several lab platforms using its information security products, certSAFE® and shellSAFE®, as well as cryptographic smart cards, thus laying the foundation of an information security lab for the Automatic Control and Computer Science Faculty.

This is part of UTI’s close collaboration with the academic environment and represents an important way of developing sustained effort in the research and development area, which materialized in valuable software products in the field of information security and others.

UTI will continue this drive by encouraging students and PhD students to approach information security topics through collaborations, both with the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and other universities and scientific reseach centres.

Professor Doctor Valentin Sgarciu, Vicedean of the Automatic Control and Computer Science Faculty, made the following statement with respect to this event: “From the perspective of the education the Automatic Control and Computer Science Faculty provides to its students, a major component is linked to information systems security. The donation made by UTI Systems to our faculty comes to satisfy the equipment demand for specialized laboratories where our students will be familiarized with and use state-of-the-art information security equipment. The equipment and licences donated will be used for research and development purposes by professors and students. We are, at the same time, convinced that this donation made by UTI Systems to our faculty is the beginning of a future collaboration that will yield concrete results in scientific research which both partners could take benefit from.”
